Refreshing green kiwi smoothie

My lovely sis Hedvig gave me the idea to use kiwi and cucumber together in a yummy smoothie. I also added a banana and a couple of handfuls of fresh spinach. A really refreshing sip to kick start your day!

Don't forget to check out these other delicious and healthy smoothies.

2-3 people

·         7 oz / 200 g cucumber (with peel left on)
·         1 huge banana (peeled)
·         4 ripe kiwis (peeled)
·         2-3 handfuls of fresh spinach

Cut the cucumber, banana and kiwis into coins. Add spinach and blend until smooth (I used a hand blender). Serve right away or pour into a bottle and take with you on the go.

    1. Not dumb at all! But yes, I would recommend peeling the kiwis.

    1. Actually there is no need for ice or vegan yogurt but you you can always add them if you'd like!

  4. Don't you have to add water though?

    1. You definitely can, if you dont like a thicker smoothie. For me, the watery cucumber is enough.

  5. I don't like bananas. Is there something else I could use?

  6. Adriana, you can definitely use something else instead of a banana. It gives sweetness to the smoothie, but you can replace it with a handful of raisins or a couple of dates. Or if you don't want a very sweet smoothie, just use some other fruit instead of a banana. Like melon for example.

  7. Hi, thank you so much for the recipe. Could I add pineapple and raisins (dried I suppose) to the fruits that are already there? And use a regular blender right?

  8. Ben, you can definitely add pineapple and dried raisins to this smoothie! Raisins are a great idea, since they make the smoothie even sweeter. And you can use regular blender or a hand blender for example. Anything that blends :)

  16. To replace banana, would blueberries or strawberries overwhelm this smoothie? Also, could I add vanilla protein powder without making this too thick?

    ReplyDelete
  17. I'm guessing you cannot go wrong with blueberries or strawberries. And if you add vanilla protein powder, I recommend to add more water. And if you want the smoothie to be sweeter, add some raisins or dates.

  20. I feel like I'm getting a lot of kiwi seeds. Is there a way I can reduce that?

  21. Just try to remove the kiwi seeds with a knife before adding them to the smoothie.
